Principal Manufacturing Systems Engineer (Ignition)

Location: Lafayette, Colorado, United States of America; onsite 4-day work model

Salary: $123,200–$184,800 per year plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Design, develop, validate, and support manufacturing digital architectures for Smart Digital Factory initiatives.
• Develop Ignition applications using Perspective and Vision, including HMIs, operator interfaces, dashboards, alarming, notifications, and reporting.
• Build SQL databases, complex queries, historian systems, and production data collection solutions.
• Connect PLCs and industrial devices to Ignition through OPC-UA and integrate manufacturing systems with MES and ERP platforms.
• Design KPI dashboards covering OEE, downtime, throughput, scrap, and FPY, and support equipment launches and plant-floor troubleshooting.
• Work with manufacturing engineering, IT, controls engineering, quality, production, cybersecurity, and IT teams to deploy secure architectures and document system changes.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 5 years, or a PhD with at least 3 years.
• Experience with manufacturing systems, industrial software, data acquisition, and production reporting.
• Working knowledge of PLCs and industrial automation, including Allen-Bradley systems and plant-floor equipment integration.
• For bachelor's degrees earned outside the United States, a degree meeting 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) requirements is needed.
• U.S. work authorization is required; sponsorship is offered for Principal-level roles and above.

Nice to have

• Ignition development experience with Perspective and Vision.
• Python scripting, automation, data processing, and system integration experience.
• Familiarity with MES, ERP, SCADA, historian platforms, manufacturing cybersecurity, industrial networking, and OT/IT integration.
