Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS/GCP)

Location: Remote from the United States; occasional travel may be required for meetings, collaboration, or team-building activities. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Salary: $119,808–$165,000 annually, with annual bonus potential based on performance.

What you will do

• Serve as a subject matter expert on large enterprise infrastructure projects in partnership with architects and cross-functional IT teams.
• Plan, design, implement, and promote DevOps methodologies and cloud-based solutions across AWS and GCP.
• Guide teams on Infrastructure as Code, provisioning, continuous integration and delivery, deployment, and test automation.
• Design infrastructure, security, deployment, scaling, metrics, and IT operations solutions.
• Identify and remove infrastructure and system-level impediments while implementing process improvements.
• Conduct technology reviews and internal audits to verify business and security requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of experience overseeing mission-critical enterprise systems and working with virtual machines, virtual networking, and third-party infrastructure storage.
• Production experience with AWS and/or GCP, including IAM, networking, compute, containers, databases, storage, KMS, and encryption in transit.
• 5+ years administering and troubleshooting Linux systems and 2+ years working with Docker.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CloudFormation templates, cloud migration, middleware such as Nginx, Apache HTTP, Jetty, and Tomcat.
• Experience with databases, monitoring and metrics solutions, load and performance testing, Python, and Bash scripting.

Nice to have

• AWS certification.
• Primary focus on Google Cloud and production AWS support.
• Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architecture, security engineering, multi-region architecture, high availability, observability, and cloud troubleshooting.
