Director of Cloud Infrastructure & Security (AWS)

Location: Paris, France; hybrid model with typically 2 days remote per week

What you will do

• Lead and develop the Cloud Infrastructure and Security teams, including hiring senior engineers and defining their joint roadmap.
• Own the AWS and GCP platform, including Kubernetes, networking, secrets management, data stores, and Cloudflare edge infrastructure.
• Establish reliability practices covering SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, incident management, and business continuity.
• Advance infrastructure automation with Terraform, GitOps, ArgoCD, and policy-as-code while improving CI/CD, observability, and developer self-service.
• Drive FinOps, platform modernisation, database and Kubernetes upgrades, and automation of recurring operational work.
• Own cloud, application, identity, detection, incident response, compliance, endpoint, and supply-chain security programs, including safe AI adoption.

Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering experience and 5+ years leading infrastructure, platform, or security teams.
• Experience managing multiple teams or functions, hiring senior engineers, and operating in a fast-paced scale-up or marketplace environment.
• Hands-on-credible expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform, with experience building reliability practices at scale.
• Demonstrated cloud cost optimisation or FinOps results, alongside strong cloud and application security fundamentals.
• Working knowledge of GDPR, DORA, PCI DSS, NIS2, and related practical security controls.
• Strong communication, incident leadership, prioritisation, and automation skills for operating with lean teams.
