Senior Security Engineer II (Cloud Security)

Salary: $149,000–$235,000 per year, with expected OTE of $166,000–$261,000 per year.

What you will do

• Define cloud security standards, guardrails, reference architectures, objectives, and roadmaps for Infrastructure, SRE, and Product Engineering.
• Lead cross-functional security initiatives from scoping through delivery and represent cloud security in architecture and design forums.
• Own threat modeling for new cloud technologies and design secure-by-default architectures across AWS, GCP, and self-managed systems.
• Advance cloud threat detection, SIEM rules, incident response, cloud forensics, vulnerability management, and security automation.
• Set security standards for self-managed Kubernetes, including control planes, workload isolation, admission control, runtime security, and CI/CD supply chains.
• Mentor security and platform engineers through technical guidance, pairing, design reviews, and feedback.

Requirements

• Several years of production ownership of cloud security, including on-call responsibility.
• Hands-on experience with AWS as the primary cloud, GCP, and self-managed Kubernetes.
• Ability to read and write Python and Terraform.
• Experience with secure architecture, threat modeling, IAM, RBAC, least privilege, detection engineering, and incident response.
• Experience securing infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, containers, virtual machines, and distributed data stores such as MongoDB.
• Ability to lead through technical depth and influence as a senior individual contributor without direct people management.

Nice to have

• Experience with CrowdStrike, Tenable, native cloud security services, and SIEM management.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems and self-managed infrastructure.
