Scientific Director/Senior Medical Director, Global Medical Affairs Precision Medicine (Precision Medicine)

Location: Mettawa, Illinois, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days per week onsite

Salary: $182,000–$346,000 base pay per year

What you will do

• Develop and execute the Global Medical Affairs Precision Medicine strategy for the oncology portfolio.
• Build capabilities in biomarkers, companion diagnostics, digital pathology, AI-enabled diagnostics, liquid biopsy, and emerging technologies.
• Establish partnerships with IVD companies, pathology societies, academic institutions, reference laboratories, and technology partners.
• Build and lead Precision Medicine Field Medical capabilities, including biomarker-focused Medical Science Liaisons and pathology engagement strategies.
• Lead global evidence generation, medical education, scientific communications, and pathology congress strategies.
• Integrate diagnostic strategies into clinical development and commercialization plans while evaluating emerging technologies and external collaborations.

Requirements

• Scientific Director track: advanced PhD or PharmD degree; 10–15 years of pharmaceutical industry or related experience; and 7–10 years of Medical Affairs experience, preferably in Global Medical Affairs.
• Senior Medical Director track: M.D., D.O., or non-U.S. equivalent, with clinical trial or pharmaceutical/academic Medical Affairs experience; residency or fellowship completion preferred.
• Substantial knowledge of the relevant therapeutic area; multiple myeloma expertise is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of clinical trial methodology, data analysis, regulatory requirements, development strategy, and protocol design.
• Proven leadership in global cross-functional teams and ability to engage internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills required.

Nice to have

• Postdoctoral experience.
• Direct subject matter expertise in multiple myeloma.
• Relevant therapeutic specialty experience in an academic or hospital environment.
• Residency or fellowship completion.
