Data Solutions Architect (Databricks)

Location: Remote; compensation depends on work location

Salary: $127,900–$175,900 annual base salary

What you will do

• Design and implement enterprise data solutions using Databricks, Azure, Apache Spark, and modern cloud data technologies.
• Lead solution design for data engineering, including Delta Lake, Medallion Architecture, data integration, and data movement patterns.
• Define and maintain architecture standards, coding standards, reusable design patterns, and engineering best practices.
• Implement data security and governance using Unity Catalog, RBAC, data masking, row-level security, column-level security, and least-privilege models.
• Ensure data quality, monitoring, auditing, lineage, and governance across enterprise data solutions.
• Review technical designs, optimize Spark workloads and SQL queries, and mentor data engineering and development teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related disciplines.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and SQL.
• Deep understanding of Medallion Architecture, data warehousing, dimensional data modeling, and secure governed enterprise data platforms.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, automated testing frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and scale large-volume data pipelines, communicate with stakeholders, establish technical standards, and mentor engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Azure or Databricks certifications.
• Experience with MicroStrategy, Power BI, enterprise data architecture standards, and governance frameworks.
• Experience with cloud modernization, data transformation, data quality, metadata management, and data lineage initiatives.
