Specialist Solutions Architect (Data Engineering & Warehousing)

What you will do

• Own end-to-end technical strategy for customer accounts from discovery through production deployment and consumption growth.
• Lead architecture discussions and design scalable, production-grade solutions for data engineering and real-time analytics.
• Advise customer architects, engineering leads, and directors on technical decisions and trade-offs.
• Build custom solutions to demonstrate Databricks differentiation and drive competitive technical wins.
• Develop a technical specialization and coordinate DSAs, solution architects, and partners on complex customer needs.
• Provide structured feedback on customer requirements and competitive gaps to influence product direction.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or a senior hands-on technical role.
• Deep experience with Apache Spark, Kafka or similar message queues, batch ingestion, performance tuning, and troubleshooting complex workloads.
• Strong Python and SQL coding skills, including live coding, debugging, and solution building.
• Experience with distributed data systems, streaming architectures, lakehouse patterns, data warehousing migrations, governance, and MPP debugging.
• Experience deploying production systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure, security, and governance considerations.
• Ability to lead architecture discussions with senior technical stakeholders; a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience is expected. Willingness to travel up to 30% is required.

Nice to have

• Databricks certifications in data engineering, machine learning, or platform technologies.
• Experience with Snowflake, AWS native services, or Azure Synapse.
• Background in a data/AI company or cloud provider.
• Industry expertise in financial services, healthcare, retail, media, or similar domains.
• Experience with data observability, security, telemetry, anomaly detection, or SIEM tools.
