HR Data Solutions Architect (Azure Databricks)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; hybrid. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Salary: $185,200–$210,000 per year if located in Illinois, plus bonus eligibility and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

• Serve as the subject-matter authority for core HR, payroll, benefits, talent, time and attendance, and organizational data.
• Design and govern conceptual, logical, and physical HR data models across bronze, silver, and gold Medallion layers.
• Lead source-to-target mapping and migration from legacy HR systems and the HR Warehouse to an Azure Databricks Lakehouse.
• Define systems of record, sources of truth, entity resolution, and cross-system HR key management.
• Partner with data engineering, governance, and HR stakeholders on integration, validation, reconciliation, and cutover.
• Improve metadata, lineage, cataloging, documentation, data quality, and handling of sensitive HR and PII data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, HRIS, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in data modeling, data architecture, or HR data and systems roles.
• Deep experience with HR systems such as Workday or SAP SuccessFactors, including integrations.
• Experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models and applying dimensional modeling.
• Strong data integration background covering APIs, ETL/ELT, middleware, SQL, data warehousing, governance, metadata, and data quality.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark/PySpark, Unity Catalog, Azure Data Factory, or ADLS.
• Experience migrating on-premises or legacy warehouses to cloud Lakehouse platforms.
• Knowledge of MDM, entity resolution, HR privacy and compliance frameworks, and legal or financial services.
• Experience mentoring analysts, data engineers, or data modelers.
