Director, Research Data Governance & Analytics (AI)

Location: Remote with travel as needed; based in Bar Harbor, Maine

Salary: $136,461–$228,467 annually, based on years of related experience.

What you will do

• Develop and execute a research data framework and master project plan covering data collection, operations, reporting, and analytics.
• Coordinate research data management across IT, Security, Legal, Compliance, Research, Administration, and Services teams.
• Establish data governance infrastructure, policies, standards, procedures, and stakeholder practices.
• Oversee research data and metadata remediation, alignment, sharing, traceability, and usability according to FAIR and CARE principles.
• Lead research analytics capabilities, including metrics, KPIs, reports, communications, and dashboards for research and educational outcomes.
• Advise on AI tools, monitor emerging data and AI regulations, support audits, and deliver data literacy and stewardship training.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of technical experience, ideally in data governance and management.
• At least 5 years of progressive leadership of enterprise-wide programs or cross-functional teams.
• BS degree required; master’s degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, data management, data architecture, storage, security, regulatory compliance, and policy development.
• Experience executing strategic plans involving complex, cross-functional processes and information.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical concept explanation skills.
