Data Governance Lead (Data Governance)

Location: Morrisville, North Carolina, United States; hybrid work with in-office and/or in-person expectations

Salary: USD 170,000–253,000 annual on-target earnings, including base salary and potential commission.

What you will do

• Implement and continuously improve practical enterprise data governance processes for operations, analytics, reporting, AI readiness, and business applications.
• Partner with application owners, analytics teams, data engineers, and business leaders to embed governance into platforms, integrations, reporting, and decision-making.
• Guide, coach, train, and mentor a geographically distributed community of data owners and stewards.
• Build stakeholder alignment, resolve competing priorities, and lead cross-functional outcomes through influence rather than formal authority.
• Develop governance communications, learning materials, policies, standards, business glossaries, metadata, lineage, controls, and approval workflows.
• Define data quality rules and measures, lead root-cause analysis and remediation, and advise teams on scalable governance solutions.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of progressive experience in data governance, data management, analytics enablement, enterprise applications, business transformation, or a related field.
• Experience influencing diverse stakeholders, facilitating alignment, resolving conflict, and leading cross-functional initiatives without formal authority.
• Experience coaching and mentoring geographically distributed stewardship communities and creating playbooks, learning materials, and repeatable forums.
• Working knowledge of data stewardship models, data quality, business glossaries, metadata, lineage, controls, policies, standards, and issue management.
• Experience supporting governed data for reporting, analytics, operational decision-making, and enterprise business applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, data management, computer science, engineering, or a related field; experience with Oracle Cloud ERP, Salesforce, SAP CRM, Snowflake, or metadata management platforms is strongly desired.

• Certifications in data governance, analytics, metadata management, cloud data platforms, change leadership, or enterprise applications.
• Experience in a product-centric technology infrastructure sector or another complex global environment.
