Data Governance Lead (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in Morrisville, North Carolina, or San Jose, California, United States, with in-office and/or in-person expectations.

Salary: USD 170,000–253,000 target on-target earnings (OTE), including base salary and potential commission.

What you will do

• Implement and continuously improve practical enterprise data governance processes.
• Embed governance requirements into business applications, analytics platforms, integrations, reporting, and decision-making processes.
• Guide, coach, train, and mentor a distributed community of data owners and stewards.
• Develop and evolve policies, standards, business glossaries, metadata, lineage, controls, stewardship roles, and approval workflows.
• Define data quality rules, lead root-cause analysis and remediation, and improve adoption using measurable evidence.
• Build stakeholder alignment and advise business and technology teams without formal authority.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of progressive experience in data governance, data management, analytics enablement, enterprise applications, business transformation, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, facilitate alignment, resolve conflict, and lead cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience coaching or mentoring geographically distributed stewardship communities and creating playbooks or learning materials.
• Working knowledge of data quality, metadata, lineage, business glossaries, controls, policies, standards, and issue management.
• Experience supporting governed data for reporting, analytics, operational decisions, and enterprise applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, data management, computer science, engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP, Salesforce, SAP CRM, Snowflake, or metadata management platforms.
• Relevant certifications in data governance, analytics, metadata management, cloud data platforms, change leadership, or enterprise applications.
• Experience in a product-centric technology infrastructure sector or another complex global environment.
• Advanced degree.
