Software Tester

Location: Remote within the United States; U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance are required. The role supports the U.S. Army Human Resources Command in Fort Knox, Kentucky.

What you will do

• Develop test plans and execute functional, regression, exploratory, usability, and comprehensive software testing.
• Execute software test cases and automated tests based on customer specifications and requirements.
• Test software functionality across different browsers and verify that features meet user expectations.
• Analyze test data, identify defects, perform root cause analysis, and help mitigate risks.
• Communicate testing results and improvement recommendations to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with developers and product management on release readiness and improve testing methodologies and SOPs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience as a software engineer tester.
• Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
• Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies, logic, software quality, and detailed technical documentation.
• Understanding of JavaScript, C#, Java, Node, and Angular.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure DevOps or Amazon AWS.
• Knowledge of manual, automated, unit, integration, and functional testing, as well as bug-tracking systems.
• Experience with software development lifecycle management and relevant testing certifications such as CSTE, ISTQB Agile Tester, or CAST.
• Strong analytical, data analysis, interpersonal, and collaboration skills in a fast-paced Agile environment.
