Network Engineer III

Location: Bethesda, Maryland, United States. US citizenship and an active secret security clearance are required.

What you will do

• Deploy and sustain LAN, WLAN, WAN, intranet, extranet, and other communications networks.
• Administer network integrity, security, availability, performance monitoring, and capacity analysis.
• Evaluate network hardware and software, make recommendations, and test solutions with architecture and engineering staff.
• Coordinate network implementations, upgrades, and version changes while maintaining the required security and operational posture.
• Create standard operating procedures, maintenance guides, and knowledge base articles.
• Resolve network issues, complete trouble tickets, and support projects and after-hours downtime activities.

Requirements

• Six or more years of experience as a Network Engineer.
• Bachelor's degree.
• US citizenship and an active secret security clearance.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.
• Proficient written and spoken English, strong communication and time-management skills, and availability for rotational after-hours on-call support.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting a Department of Defense environment.
• Active Cisco Certified Network Associate certification.
