Facilities Maintenance Mechanic (Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC)

Location: Sacramento, California, United States; onsite

Salary: $27.29–$52.34 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, adjustments, and basic repairs on piping, plumbing, electrical-mechanical, instrumentation, automation, steam, and process hot water systems.
• Maintain and repair process equipment, including washers, autoclaves, bedding dispensers, drying cabinets, and water treatment systems.
• Participate in major component replacements and evaluate complex system problems.
• Maintain mechanical equipment rooms and ensure proper care of equipment and supplies.
• Train and mentor junior technicians while acting as a technical lead on complex jobs.
• Manage small projects and field contractors and assist with capital and operational work planning and execution.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work in the field with minimal supervision and apply modern precision maintenance techniques to coupled and belt-driven equipment.
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes for plumbing, electrical, and renovation work.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and equipment schematics and follow and enforce safety procedures.
• Participation in an on-call rotation is required, with a response time of 45 minutes or less.
• Occasional shift work, including nights, holidays, and weekends, and occasional travel for training or project support may be required.

Nice to have

• Applicable state licenses in plumbing, electrical work, or HVAC.
