Intermediate Developer (Python/Django)

Location: Calgary; remote-friendly with flexible remote arrangements

Compensation: CA$88K–CA$110K annually plus 5,000 options

What you will do

• Develop SaaS software as part of an Agile team across database, backend, and frontend stacks.
• Design and deliver high-quality, intent-revealing code aligned with technical architecture and development standards.
• Build and execute integrated unit tests and improve observability, availability, and reliability in live environments.
• Document architecture, workflows, sequence diagrams, blockers, risks, and other technical considerations.
• Resolve urgent bugs, participate in peer reviews, and use production metrics and stakeholder feedback to improve projects.
• Mentor junior developers and collaborate with senior developers and product managers on requirements and feature delivery.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python and relational databases.
• Proven expertise in Django and Django REST Framework.
• Experience delivering software features end-to-end and maintaining RESTful APIs, including authentication and authorization practices.
• Professional experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting applications on Amazon Web Services.
• Experience working with frontend frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

• Experience delivering SaaS software in an Agile environment.
• Experience collaborating with product managers to define requirements and deliver software products.
