Staff Product Integration Engineer (Data Storage)

Location: Teparuk, Thailand. The role is based at the Teparuk manufacturing site.

What you will do

• Own mechanical Critical to Quality (CTQ) evaluation and ongoing monitoring for cleaning-related process changes.
• Ensure process evaluations and qualifications are properly executed through slider and Head Gimbal Assembly (HGA) processes.
• Assess and communicate the mechanical CTQ impact of process changes and prepare slider notifications and alert letters for downstream teams.
• Coordinate with slider factory teams and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve qualification issues and investigate contamination- or defect-related failures.
• Lead failure analysis, root-cause investigations, corrective actions, mechanical evaluations, and critical build reviews.
• Support design maturity activities, development builds, process changes, and the Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR) ramp, including critical data collection and ET test-script readiness.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical CTQ parameters for sliders and HGA, including Head Over Coat, Pole Tip Topography, and Air Bearing.
• Experience with slider and HGA processes, data storage, process engineering, process design, and cleaning chemistry.
• Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in SQL, JMP, and Minitab; experience creating SQL scripts and KNIME workflows.
• Knowledge of PMR and HAMR methodologies, failure-analysis metrology such as AFM and SEM, and cleaning-system design, maintenance, and cleanliness monitoring.
• Fluent English communication, both spoken and written, is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with surface chemistry laboratory analysis and metrology equipment.
• Knowledge of process and design maturity development, DOE, FMEA, CTQ flow-down, and scorecard development.
• Project management experience in cross-functional engineering environments.
