Staff Systems Architect (Telecommunications)

What you will do

• Define, design, communicate, and evolve systems architecture for enterprise IT systems, integrations, and application environments.
• Translate business capabilities, epics, features, and non-functional requirements into architecture models, system designs, enabler work, and technical roadmaps.
• Evaluate application, integration, data, cloud, infrastructure, security, compliance, and operations options while balancing value, cost, complexity, risk, and technical debt.
• Support SAFe and Agile planning events, architecture reviews, system demos, backlog refinement, dependency identification, and inspect-and-adapt activities.
• Create and maintain solution context, capability maps, integration views, data flows, dependency maps, architecture decision records, and transition-state designs.
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, cloud, data, security, QA, and operations teams to ensure solutions are executable, testable, deployable, supportable, and aligned with standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, Engineering, or a relevant field.
• At least six years of experience across at least two telecommunications and/or IT disciplines, including systems architecture, infrastructure, network design, application platforms, integration, cloud services, data architecture, security, compliance, or operational support.
• Intermediate-level proficiency in systems architecture, systems analysis, integration, and design, with the ability to work independently under general guidance.
• Broad knowledge of telecommunications, contemporary software development, CI/CD, DevOps, automation, cloud and virtualized platforms, integration, infrastructure and network architecture, security, compliance, and operational support.
• Strong collaboration, facilitation, negotiation, communication, documentation, modeling, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work in a standard office or home-office setting, work assigned shifts, and provide occasional after-hours support during business emergencies.

Nice to have

• CCAr, TOGAF, CEA, Certified SOA Architect, CITA, EACOE, Open CA, or FEAC certification.
• Agile team leadership or project management experience.
• Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, telecommunications, or ServiceNow certifications.
