Director Field Access Managers (Biotechnology)

Location: Fully remote from anywhere in the Northeast; occasional team meetings and events, with frequent domestic travel in the region of up to 60%.

Salary: $208,000–$283,500 annual.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of 10 Field Access Managers supporting healthcare provider staff with insurance coverage and reimbursement policies.
• Set the team vision, objectives, priorities, and performance standards in alignment with company values and compliance requirements.
• Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and develop a diverse, high-performing field-based team.
• Collaborate with Field Sales, Market Access, Patient Support Services, Marketing, Channel Management, Analytics, and Compliance to identify and address patient access bottlenecks.
• Provide reimbursement and insurance coverage expertise, including maintaining plan-specific criteria, forms, and submission procedures.
• Analyze payer prior authorization outcomes and market trends, communicate team metrics, and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of commercial experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, including field reimbursement.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience building and sustaining compliant, high-performing teams.
• Experience recruiting and hiring high-performing teams.
• Leadership experience with product launches.
• Strong understanding of the prescription patient journey, drug coverage and benefit design, reimbursement processes, strategic planning, and tactical execution.
• Experience leading field-based reimbursement teams and experience with specialty or rare diseases are preferred.
