Legal Operations Technology Specialist (AI)

Location: United States; roles based in the San Mateo, CA headquarters are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday.

What you will do

• Identify, evaluate, and implement technologies that optimize legal workflows, including AI-powered contract review, legal research, document generation, and e-discovery tools.
• Lead AI tool pilots, collect user feedback, measure productivity and cost impact, and establish protocols that balance automation with lawyer review.
• Document workflows and create standard operating procedures while training Legal & Advocacy Team members on new tools and systems.
• Manage legal budgets through forecasting, spend tracking, benchmarking, analytics, dashboards, and KPI reporting.
• Oversee outside counsel management and end-to-end e-billing operations, including system administration, invoice review, reconciliation, and vendor optimization.
• Coordinate team events, memberships, CLE courses, conferences, summer associate programs, and pro-bono efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of combined experience in legal operations, data analytics, technology implementation, or related areas.
• Experience with legal technology operations, e-billing tools, vendor management, and legal technology implementation.
• Working knowledge of AI solutions in professional settings, including generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude.
• Proficiency with e-billing platforms, GSuite, Claude, Glean, Airtable, GC-AI, and DocuSign.
• Strong data analysis, spreadsheet, communication, organizational, analytical, relationship-building, and change management skills.
