2027 Agribusiness Commercial Property Claims Intern (Insurance)

What you will do

• Review and summarize first notices of loss and support claim file setup.
• Gather photos, estimates, inspection reports, invoices, and other documentation for property damage investigations.
• Assist with policy coverage reviews, property damage assessments, payment requests, reserve reviews, and claim resolution.
• Draft professional correspondence and collaborate with insureds, agents, contractors, vendors, and other business partners.
• Shadow experienced adjusters during field visits, inspections, and virtual assessments.
• Complete a capstone project and present recommendations to Agribusiness Claims leadership.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Insurance, Agribusiness, Risk Management, Agricultural Economics, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
• Junior status preferred, with involvement in student organizations, leadership activities, or prior work experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a strong customer service orientation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
