Actuarial Intern (Insurance)

Location: Onsite in Addison, Texas or Montpelier, Vermont, with office attendance four days per week on Monday through Thursday

Hourly pay: $19–$28 USD

What you will do

• Update actuarial models for product development or valuation work.
• Use SQL queries and Excel macros to manipulate data.
• Learn and apply Alteryx and Tableau to investigate business trends and summarize findings.
• Run reports, analyze trends, and detect patterns in results.
• Participate in a cross-departmental project focused on an enterprise-wide solution and present the results at a company-wide event.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
• Preferably a college junior with an expected graduation date of May 2026.
• At least one passed SOA actuarial exam.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, interpersonal, communication, coordination, and influencing skills.
• Ability to work accurately, meet deadlines, work independently, and collaborate with a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database software, preferably SQL Server or Access.
