Senior Network Software Engineer II (Space Systems)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. The role is based at hirify.global's global headquarters and is subject to U.S. government space technology export regulations.

Base pay: $150,000–$225,000 USD per year, with company stock included in total compensation.

What you will do

• Manage the software development and integration of routers, radios, and laser communication devices for a spacecraft constellation.
• Coordinate suppliers and subcontractors through system development, testing, feature delivery, and integration milestones.
• Develop product development plans, staffing plans, KPIs, software standards, and delivery procedures.
• Design simulation and test approaches for constellation networking and plan major integration points between teams.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, consultants, senior leadership, and internal engineering teams to track progress and resolve gaps.
• Drive feedback collection, process improvements, and high-quality software deliverables that meet customer requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, aerospace engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience and comprehensive knowledge of network software.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and experience using Jira for software development management.
• Experience with systems engineering methods, including systems trades, requirements management, performance characterization, and interface management.
• Active Secret security clearance, eligibility to obtain TS/SCI, and U.S. citizenship are required.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in aerospace, computer science, electrical engineering, or another technical discipline.
• Active TS/SCI clearance, SDA NEBULA architecture experience, and experience with cybersecurity controls or encryption.
• Agile team leadership and project management qualifications such as PMP or APMP.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, DevSecOps, Microsoft Project, or Smartsheet.
• Proactive problem-solving, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
