TL;DR
Flight Dynamics Engineer II (Aerospace): Developing and analyzing launch vehicle and spacecraft trajectories for Earth-orbiting, lunar, and interplanetary missions with an accent on orbital mechanics, maneuver design, and mission operations. Focus on solving complex flight dynamics problems, validating guidance profiles, supporting real-time anomaly response, and building simulation infrastructure.

Location: Littleton, Colorado, United States; onsite at hirify.global's site

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 USD per year, plus potential stock and cash incentives.

Company

hirify.global is an end-to-end aerospace company developing rockets, spacecraft, and critical space systems and subsystems for commercial, scientific, and national security missions.

What you will do

  • Develop and analyze launch vehicle and spacecraft trajectories, including ascent, orbit insertion, and orbital maneuvers.
  • Perform orbital propagation, rendezvous planning, station-keeping analysis, and collision avoidance design for spacecraft operations.
  • Support mission design through launch-window analysis, delta-V budgets, and contingency planning.
  • Interface with flight software and GNC teams to validate and optimize guidance profiles.
  • Generate trajectory data products and provide flight dynamics support for mission readiness reviews.
  • Support real-time mission operations, anomaly response, post-launch data analysis, and development of simulation tools and flight dynamics infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Space Systems, Engineering, Applied Physics, or an equivalent field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in mission design or flight dynamics.
  • Knowledge of orbital mechanics, spaceflight dynamics, maneuver design, orbit determination, and Kalman filtering.
  • Experience with STK, Astrogator, GMAT, Monte, Copernicus, or equivalent mission-analysis tools.
  • Python software development, Git or equivalent version control, and Jira or equivalent project-management software.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements and U.S. space-technology export regulations.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
  • Active Secret or TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience with Monte Carlo numerical simulation and orbit determination using ODTK, Orekit, or equivalent tools.
  • Team or software project-management experience.
  • Ability to solve complex problems under time pressure and prioritize work with multiple stakeholders.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work on rockets, spacecraft, and space systems supporting Earth-orbiting, lunar, interplanetary, and national security missions.
  • Collaborate with Systems, Ground Software, Electrical, Avionics, Flight Software, Thermal, Propulsion, and GNC engineering teams.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan options, paid vacation, holidays, sick leave, and parental leave.
  • Potential company stock, cash incentives, and access to a discounted employee stock purchase program.
  • The role may involve prolonged sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.
