TL;DR
Dynamics Engineer (Aerospace) (Satellite Dynamics): Deriving loads and environments for high-power satellites across transportation, launch, deployment, and on-orbit operation with an accent on dynamic testing, physics modeling, and simulation workflows. Focus on building finite element and Python analysis tools, correlating models with measured data, and solving complex vibration, shock, jitter, vibroacoustic, and coupled-loads problems.

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 per year plus equity

Company

hirify.global develops and mass-produces high-power satellite platforms for commercial and U.S. government missions from low Earth orbit to deep space.

What you will do

  • Derive loads, environments, requirements, and design criteria for satellite transportation, launch, deployment, and on-orbit operation.
  • Plan, coordinate, analyze, and correlate component, subsystem, ground, and flight dynamic tests.
  • Develop finite element physics models, simulation workflows, and data-processing tools using Nastran and Python.
  • Support vibration, shock, jitter, pointing, vibroacoustic, modal, and coupled-loads analyses.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, analysts, and external customers to deliver reliable, mass-producible spacecraft.
  • Document simulations and test results, contribute to code reviews, and provide data-driven engineering guidance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, or mathematics.
  • At least 1 year of experience in dynamics through industry, research, internships, or academic projects.
  • Must be a U.S. person under ITAR or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with limited supervision and communicate analysis and test insights effectively.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, or mathematics.
  • Experience with vibration, shock, modal testing, measurements, structural mechanics, digital signal processing, and statistics.
  • Experience with FEMAP, Nastran, Python development, version control, and shared analysis tooling.
  • Exposure to coupled loads analysis, Craig-Bampton and superelement reduction, jitter and pointing analysis, Monte Carlo methods, multibody dynamics, LS-DYNA, and vibroacoustic methods.
  • Familiarity with HALT/HASS testing and dynamics-driven PCBA failure mechanisms.

Culture & Benefits

  • Fast-paced environment at a high-growth Series D-funded aerospace company.
  • Paid time off and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Life insurance and paid parental leave.
  • Equity in the company and additional employee benefits.
  • Non-traditional career paths and reasonable accommodations are supported.
