Data & Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Minneapolis, United States

Salary: $75,000–$93,000 annually, inclusive of a 15% bonus

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, optimize, and maintain scalable software and data solutions.
• Build and support ETL/ELT pipelines and solutions for large datasets, analytics, and AI use cases.
• Translate business goals and user requirements into actionable technical requirements with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Identify automation opportunities and support operational stability, troubleshooting, and system performance.
• Produce software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, documentation, and recommendations.
• Use AI-assisted development tools while maintaining code quality, security, testing, and review standards.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant data and software engineering development experience.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, command-line tools, and ETL/ELT pipelines for large datasets.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS and modern AI concepts and tools, including AI/ML APIs, vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval.
• Strong attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience sharing technical knowledge and collaborating throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to follow software engineering, SDLC, DevOps, testing, documentation, and security best practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with Agile, iterative development, SAFe, or similar scaled frameworks.
• Experience with OpenAI, HuggingFace, LangChain, BigQuery, Databricks, or similar tools.
• Experience building internal tools, agents, or workflows orchestrating LLM calls and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Experience with marketing, analytics, customer data, data architecture, and integrating data models into software.
