Lead Data Engineer (AI)

Location: Smithfield, Rhode Island, United States; day-one onsite with a hybrid schedule

Salary: $103,330–$128,656 yearly, plus potential variable compensation, bonuses, or commissions.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end modernization and migration of enterprise data workflows.
• Define architecture and migration strategies for Informatica-to-Python ETL transformations.
• Design and implement scalable data processing solutions with Python, SQL, and Java Spring Batch.
• Evaluate AI-powered accelerators, Generative AI capabilities, and GitHub Copilot productivity improvements.
• Conduct architecture reviews, solution assessments, and optimization initiatives.
• Mentor engineering teams and align solutions with stakeholders, architects, and technology leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering and data modernization.
• Deep expertise in Informatica, Python ETL, and SQL.
• Strong experience with Java Spring Batch and enterprise batch processing.
• Expertise in AWS cloud technologies and modern data architectures.
• Experience leading large-scale ETL migration and transformation programs.
• Strong understanding of Generative AI, GitHub Copilot, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.

Nice to have
