Counsel, Product Legal (Strategic Partnerships)

Location: New York City, United States

Salary: $146,000–$255,000 annual base pay, plus potential equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Advise the Strategic Partnerships team on complex and novel commercial agreements.
• Support the negotiation, drafting, and review of partnership and technology transaction documents.
• Provide legal guidance to product teams, local legal teams, support functions, management, and Legal, Risk, and Compliance.
• Coordinate with local counsel across jurisdictions to develop legally and regulatorily sound paths to market.
• Manage external counsel and regulatory consultants.
• Work with senior stakeholders across the global Airwallex group.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a lawyer at a top firm, in-house, or a combination of both.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, drafting, and multitasking skills.
• Experience advising Product and supporting commercial documents and terms.
• Ability to learn new areas of law quickly and manage complex issues independently.
• Proactive, results-driven approach with strong professionalism, integrity, and work ethic.
• Ability to work in the New York City, United States location.

Nice to have

• In-house legal experience in fintech or financial institutions.
• Expertise in payments, card networks, or fintech.
• Experience working with stakeholders across global markets.
