Software Engineer, IAM

Location: Cupertino, California, United States. In-office collaboration is required five days per week for roles based in the San Francisco Bay Area hubs.

Base salary: $150,000–$190,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Build and optimize authentication standards and protocols, including OAuth2.0, OIDC, SCIM, and SAML.
• Develop secure, reliable, and scalable IAM platform components.
• Research and implement role engineering, session management, and standardized authentication and authorization formats.
• Develop APIs and products in collaboration with Product Managers, Designers, Support, Quality, Security, and Platform Engineers.
• Architect solutions, share IAM expertise across squads, and establish engineering best practices.
• Design and build internal tooling to simplify product development and maintenance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building complex backend or distributed systems at scale.
• Proficiency with JavaScript, Node, React, and web fundamentals.
• Strong knowledge of database fundamentals, including query optimization, schema design, indexing, and caching.
• Demonstrated experience building products from scratch.
• Product-oriented mindset, user empathy, and willingness to learn and share knowledge.

Nice to have

• Understanding of authentication products, protocols, and methods such as OAuth, SAML, and OIDC.
