Director, Program Management

Location: Remote; U.S. Citizens and candidates authorized to work for any U.S. employer, as well as Canadian citizens and candidates authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship, may apply.

Annual salary: $140,000–$160,000 USD

What you will do

• Serve as a senior escalation point and trusted advisor for state agency executives and program sponsors.
• Coordinate implementation, product, and engineering teams across concurrent hirify.global Outdoors client engagements.
• Design and run status cycles, steering committees, risk reviews, launch readiness gates, and portfolio governance.
• Build client-facing reports, executive readouts, portfolio dashboards, and delivery scorecards.
• Manage portfolio risks, lead root-cause reviews, and drive lasting process improvements.
• Mentor and develop program and project managers, hiring and managing team members as the portfolio grows.

Requirements

• 8–12+ years of program or project management experience with complex, concurrent, client-facing implementations.
• Experience working credibly with C-suite stakeholders and day-to-day project teams.
• Experience building delivery governance, reporting structures, status cadences, escalation frameworks, and portfolio visibility.
• Experience working across product and engineering organizations with sufficient technical fluency to assess delivery risk.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and follow-through.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; PMP, PgMP, or similar certification required.

Nice to have

• Experience with state or local government, GovTech, or regulated public-sector environments.
• Experience with outdoor recreation, licensing, permitting, DMV, or similar agency systems.
• Experience scaling a PMO or delivery function during portfolio growth.
• Familiarity with Jira, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Confluence, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
