Senior Robotics Planning Engineer (C++)

Location: Full-time onsite work at the Irving, Texas office, United States. Domestic relocation assistance is available. The position requires up to 10% travel.

Salary: $112,710–$183,140 per year.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize motion-planning algorithms for autonomous machines operating in complex environments.
• Develop and maintain C++ libraries, interfaces, software frameworks, and reusable planning components.
• Support navigation planning, path planning, terrain planning, and autonomous work execution across machine platforms.
• Collaborate with autonomy, perception, controls, simulation, and software platform teams to define requirements and evaluate system performance.
• Create test scenarios, support simulation and validation, and analyze field and test data to improve reliability.
• Contribute to scalable planning architectures that accommodate different machine types, environments, objectives, and constraints.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in robotics engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ years of experience developing robotics or autonomous solutions involving complex software systems.
• Strong C++ development skills and proficiency in Python for algorithm development, testing, and automation.
• Knowledge of robotics frameworks and middleware technologies, including Robot Operating System (ROS).
• Experience with software architecture, technical specifications, debugging, profiling, log analysis, and root-cause investigation.
