Associate General Counsel I (Renewable Energy Project Finance)

Location: US, Arlington, VA

Salary: $193,000–$241,400 per year, plus an annual bonus

What you will do

• Advise on renewable project development and financing, focusing on solar, solar-plus-storage, stand-alone storage, and wind projects.
• Lead internal legal support for tax equity, tax credit transfer, debt, and corporate financings.
• Structure, draft, review, and negotiate financing transactions and project documents, including power purchase agreements and engineering, procurement, and construction contracts.
• Coordinate transaction closings with internal hirify.global stakeholders and outside counsel.
• Engage and manage outside counsel efficiently.
• Provide general legal counsel and strategic guidance to senior and executive-level management.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with a major law firm or sophisticated in-house legal group.
• At least 6 years of experience in project finance transactions for renewable energy projects, including the ability to lead transactions as in-house finance counsel.
• Experience with project development and project-related documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree and J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to varied responsibilities and work in a fast-paced environment.
