2027 Winter Co-Ops - Software Development - Demonware (Dublin) (Gaming)

Location: Onsite at the Demonware Dublin office, Dublin, Ireland. An 8-month, in-person co-op starts in January 2027.

Demonware is an hirify.global technology studio that builds online and data services for AAA game franchises including Call of Duty and Crash Bandicoot.

What you will do

• Build multiplayer features, core backend systems, tools for large-scale distributed services, and scalable data pipelines.
• Maintain and evolve a highly reliable platform for services used by players worldwide.
• Work with Kubernetes infrastructure, automation frameworks, and scalable operational architecture.
• Participate in design discussions, perform root cause analysis, and automate workflows to improve reliability, performance, and developer experience.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and experienced engineers across global offices throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate program and expecting to graduate between January 2027 and May 2028.
• Available for an 8-month, in-person co-op starting January 2027.
• Strong knowledge of Python, C++, and/or Java.
• Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP, UDP, and HTTP.
• Familiarity with Linux and source control, with Git preferred.
• For Site Reliability Engineering: experience with SQL-based databases, preferably MySQL; scripting experience with Bash and/or Groovy; and knowledge of TCP/IP and Linux/Unix internals.
• Clear written and verbal communication, strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Resume and transcript are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL-based databases, preferably MySQL, for Software Engineering.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools, Kubernetes, multi-platform development, security and scalability concepts, and RESTful services or web applications.
• Passion for computer science demonstrated through personal projects or extracurricular activities.
• Specific contributions to previous work or projects, Linux experience from school or personal projects, programming-related hobbies, notable school assignments, open-source contributions, and code repositories, portfolios, or technical blogs.
