2027 Winter Co-Ops - Software Development (Systems Engineering)

Location: Onsite at the hirify.global Dublin office, Ireland. This is an 8-month, in-person co-op starting in January 2027.

hirify.global develops online and data services for major game franchises including Call of Duty and Crash Bandicoot.

What you will do

• Build multiplayer features, core backend systems, and tools for large-scale distributed services.
• Maintain and evolve platform infrastructure for highly reliable, scalable services.
• Work with Kubernetes infrastructure, automation frameworks, and scalable data pipelines.
• Participate in design discussions and perform root cause analysis.
• Automate workflows to improve reliability, performance, and developer experience.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-disciplinary teams throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate program.
• Expected graduation between January 2027 and May 2028.
• Available for an 8-month, in-person co-op starting January 2027.
• Strong knowledge of Python, C++, and/or Java, with a solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Familiarity with Linux and source control, preferably Git, plus networking fundamentals including TCP, UDP, and HTTP.
• For SRE placements: SQL database experience, scripting with Bash and/or Groovy, and knowledge of TCP/IP and Linux/Unix internals.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL-based databases, preferably MySQL.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and Kubernetes.
• Experience with RESTful services, web applications, or multi-platform development.
• Exposure to security and scalability concepts.
• Personal projects, open-source contributions, or other evidence of passion for computer science.
