Test Engineer - Spaceflight Hardware (Aerospace)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; 100% onsite and in person. Occasional travel may be required.

What you will do

• Develop test strategies, plans, setups, and procedures from project and verification requirements.
• Design tests and fixtures, operate flight hardware, and support functional, development, certification, acceptance, and integration testing.
• Coordinate test facilities, service providers, schedules, customers, and project stakeholders.
• Conduct Test Readiness Reviews and provide technical support during integrated hardware and software testing.
• Collect, correlate, and analyze test data and prepare test reports.
• Process hardware in hirify.global laboratories and Johnson Space Center test facilities while maintaining safety records and certifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science from an accredited college or university.
• At least 5 years of related experience.
• Experience leading product testing within a flight hardware development team.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and use Microsoft Office products.
• Compliance with safety, health, environmental, quality, and training requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Johnson Space Center projects and test facilities.
• Two years of flight hardware development experience.
• Laboratory testing experience.
• Experience with pressure systems.
• Experience with SolidWorks.
