US Advanced Manufacturing Equipment Engineering Intern, Sophomore (Summer 2027) (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Essex Junction, Vermont, United States; on-site fab environment

Salary: $20.00–$40.00 per hour; exact compensation depends on qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Support Fab 9 equipment engineering by resolving equipment and process issues on the fab floor.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, cost reduction, and yield learning.
• Define and maintain equipment installation qualification processes and roadmaps, including planning, selection, configuration, startup, and volume ramp.
• Design, execute, and analyze experiments to optimize equipment performance, yield, reliability, process stability, and cost of ownership.
• Lead hands-on troubleshooting of complex equipment systems and resolve long-term performance issues.
• Collaborate with integration and process engineering teams on next-generation technology development and technology transfer.

Requirements

• Education: Sophomore status at the time of application and active enrollment in an accredited four-year bachelor's program in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Overall GPA of at least 3.0 and good academic standing.
• English fluency in written and verbal communication is required.
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform hands-on tactical troubleshooting and deconstruct complex systems.
• Ability to travel up to 10% and comply with Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security requirements.

• Prior related internship or co-op experience.
• Project management, innovation, execution, and ambiguity-navigation skills.
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, Statistical Process Control, and Design of Experiments.
• Strong written and verbal communication, planning, organizational, and collaboration skills.
