Principal Security Engineer

Location: 100% remote; primary location is Los Angeles, United States

Salary: $147,050–$198,950 per year for Los Angeles and other listed locations; $163,200–$220,800 per year in New York and San Francisco. A discretionary year-end merit bonus may also be available.

What you will do

• Manage information security systems, processes, policies, and the security technology environment.
• Review and analyze security events escalated by the SOC and follow incident response processes.
• Monitor threats, coordinate mitigation actions, and manage the full threat lifecycle.
• Lead external third-party evaluations and translate findings into business-aligned recommendations.
• Design and build reliable, scalable operational environments for security products.
• Provide security consulting, troubleshooting, end-user support, and assistance with security projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of information security experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of SIEM systems, including feed configuration and alarm or report development.
• Knowledge of red teaming, Linux command-line and administrative usage, incident response, and security technology risk assessment.
• Extensive knowledge of SIEM, IDS/IPS, PKI, identity and access management, antivirus, firewalls, EDR, threat intelligence, security orchestration, deception technologies, and application controls.
• Experience with Windows desktop, server, and database security; TCP/IP networking; and cloud computing across SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, public, private, and hybrid environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• GIAC, CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CIPP certification.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
