Associate Security Engineer

Location: USA - Remote, TX

Salary: $70,000–$95,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses and equity grants.

What you will do

• Drive security analytics, automation, and strategic and tactical awareness of potential security concerns.
• Research attacker techniques against enterprise technologies and automate detection and response at scale.
• Author and curate network- and host-based detections for attacks against infrastructure.
• Develop scalable systems for detection, investigation, response, and remediation across attack surfaces.
• Create and mature resilient operational capabilities while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Capture operational metrics and report key trends to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Experience in security engineering, incident response, or a related field.
• Experience with security detection and response technologies, including SOAR and SIEM products.
• Experience with big-data processing tools such as LogScale, Splunk, or Kibana.
• Experience with cloud security across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, major public cloud providers, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.
• Programming experience with Python, Go, or another programming language, plus strong knowledge of operating systems, networking, web security, OWASP, and security engineering principles.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience; additional background and fingerprint checks are required for government customer requirements.

Nice to have

• Offensive security certifications such as OSCP, OSEP, OSWE, OSED, or OSEE.
• SANS GIAC certifications such as GCIA, GPEN, GCIH, GCFA, GMON, GCDA, or GCED.
