Security Engineer (AI/LLM)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; hybrid workplace

Salary: USD 120,000–150,000 per year, plus performance bonuses and equity options.

What you will do

• Assess and secure AI/LLM deployments, MCP implementations, and LLM connector integrations through threat modeling, guardrail design, and risk assessment.
• Monitor cloud and infrastructure security using CSPM, SIEM, log analysis, cloud-native threat detection, database activity monitoring, and SOAR.
• Own security across AWS and GCP, including IAM, compute, storage, networking, workload configurations, hardening, baseline enforcement, and remediation.
• Participate in incident management, change management, security policy management, and incident response.
• Contribute to SOC 2, PCI DSS, and ISO 27001 compliance programs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of security engineering experience, including at least 2 years focused on AI/ML security.
• Hands-on experience securing AWS and GCP environments, including IAM, EC2, S3, VPC, and equivalent GCP services.
• Experience with CSPM and securing cloud-based AI/LLM deployments, including foundation models such as Claude on Amazon Bedrock.
• Experience applying guardrails, input/output filtering, prompt-injection defense, output validation, and data-egress controls.
• Hands-on assessment of MCP and LLM connectors against OWASP guidance, including OAuth scope minimization, tool-access boundaries, and untrusted-content handling.
• Knowledge of NIST AI RMF, OWASP LLM Top 10, OWASP guidance for MCP and agentic systems, MITRE ATLAS, cloud security, cryptography, authentication, authorization, vulnerabilities, and IP networking.
