Senior Python Software Engineer - Data Engineer (Azure)

What you will do

• Develop a data and cloud migration framework for moving on-premise software assets to Snowflake and Azure.
• Support the migration of data, databases, stored procedures, and Python analytical scripts to cloud platforms.
• Maintain and improve software solutions and infrastructure, including new solution development and enhancements.
• Design, develop, test, document, and launch medium-to-large software systems.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, planning, estimation, status reporting, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, managers, and capital markets users to address user needs and deliver client outcomes.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience with Python and SQL.
• Strong knowledge of Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, stored procedures, and relational databases.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, AKS, Git, and Jenkins.
• Experience migrating data engineering assets and software systems to cloud platforms.
• Experience building frontend and backend applications at scale and working with Agile methodologies, Test-Driven Development, Continuous Delivery, and Scrum.
• Financial industry experience and proficiency in English are required.

Nice to have

• C# and web development experience with React, Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
• Experience with Airflow/Astronomer, DBT, SSIS, and PowerBI.
• Experience migrating web applications to Azure/AKS and working with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, or S&P Xpressfeed.
• Completion of the Canadian Securities Course, CFA candidacy, or a quantitative degree.
• Understanding of AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor.
