Engineer IV (Structural Analysis)

Location: Peoria, Illinois, USA — onsite position

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Analyze mechanical components, structures, and systems at concept, design, and hardware stages.
• Recommend design modifications that improve reliability, performance, and product value.
• Analyze new and existing mining equipment designs to reduce prototypes, improve quality, and lower warranty expenses.
• Plan and execute more than 10 analysis projects per year and prepare comprehensive technical reports.
• Provide design-analysis guidance to design and test engineers and support cross-functional engineering projects.
• Improve engineering processes and help ensure compliance with global design, safety, and engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or an equivalent relevant discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in engineering, design, or machine application.
• At least 3 years of experience in structural analysis using tools such as Ansys Mechanical, Abaqus, or Nastran.
• Strong knowledge of strength of materials, closed-form calculations, free-body diagrams, fatigue theory, and engineering physics.
• Willingness to use Agentic AI and other assistive technologies and to learn Python, C++, or other programming languages.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ansys Workbench, Mechanical, MAPDL, Discovery, or other Ansys tools.
• Experience with nonlinear materials and contact analysis for ROPS simulations supporting ISO 3471 testing.
• Knowledge of dynamic analysis using multibody dynamics tools such as MSC ADAMS, testing, and strain-gage theory.
• Hands-on experience in laboratories, prototyping, R&D, testing, manufacturing, casting, machining, fabrication, or assembly.
• Mining-industry experience, CAD proficiency, Lean Engineering, Change Management, or professional technical-society participation.
