Director, Sustainability Strategy & Compliance

Location: Virtual - United States of America; domestic and international travel of up to 25% may be required.

Salary: $166,000–$240,460 per year, depending on location, skills, knowledge, and experience.

What you will do

• Lead the global sustainability strategy, roadmap, goals, metrics, and program priorities.
• Direct readiness and compliance programs for climate, packaging, product stewardship, and sustainability reporting regulations.
• Manage greenhouse gas inventories, carbon accounting, emissions data, sustainability platforms, and Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 reporting.
• Oversee annual sustainability reports, ESG disclosures, external assurance activities, and reporting controls.
• Lead customer, investor, and stakeholder sustainability responses and support product footprint, lifecycle assessment, and sustainable product development initiatives.
• Manage sustainability governance, executive and Board communications, data governance, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, business administration, engineering, public policy, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental compliance, climate strategy, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing programs and influencing cross-functional teams in a global organization.
• Experience leading sustainability reporting, carbon accounting, regulatory compliance, or ESG programs.
• Knowledge of GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, emerging regulatory reporting requirements, and greenhouse gas accounting methodologies.
• Strong executive communication, analytical, organizational, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, electronics, or technology industries.
• Knowledge of product sustainability, lifecycle assessment, circular economy principles, and sustainable product development.
• Experience with sustainability assurance or audit processes and compliance requirements in North America, Europe, and Asia.
• Professional certification in sustainability, environmental management, climate, or ESG.
