Senior Cloud FinOps Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States; up to 10% domestic travel and occasional after-hours or weekend support may be required. Availability during standard business hours across United States time zones is expected.

What you will do

• Lead cloud spend, usage, allocation, anomaly, and optimization analyses across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Identify, prioritize, implement, and validate savings opportunities involving rightsizing, idle resources, storage, data transfer, licensing, scheduling, reserved capacity, and savings plans.
• Design cost allocation models, tagging governance, unit economics, dashboards, budgets, forecasts, showback, chargeback, and executive reporting.
• Analyze containerized, Kubernetes, AI, GPU, SaaS, software licensing, and marketplace costs where included in client engagements.
• Build SQL-based data transformations and Python or PowerShell automation, integrate billing sources and third-party tools, and maintain FinOps portals and reporting models.
• Advise technical, finance, procurement, and executive stakeholders; mentor engineers and contribute to standards, reusable assets, pre-sales, training, and practice development.

Requirements

• 5+ years of combined experience in cloud engineering, cloud operations, infrastructure, or cloud cost management, including at least 3 years focused on FinOps or cloud financial management.
• 3+ years in customer-facing, stakeholder-facing, consulting, or service delivery work presenting findings to technical and business audiences.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale, multi-account, multi-subscription, or enterprise cloud environments and subject matter expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Working proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language, such as Python or PowerShell, for cost-data analysis, transformation, and automation.
• Strong analytical, reporting, communication, documentation, prioritization, and problem-solving skills in a multi-client environment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to complete hirify.global and client-required background screening.

Nice to have

• FinOps, AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications and experience supporting multiple public cloud providers.
• Experience with Harness CCM, Apptio Cloudability, CloudZero, Power BI, Tableau, ServiceNow, Jira, or similar platforms.
• Experience with forecasting, budgeting, allocation, showback or chargeback, commitment planning, FOCUS, Kubernetes cost allocation, or AI/GPU cost management.
• Experience mentoring engineers, reviewing deliverables, supporting pre-sales, and contributing to technology adoption.
