Software Engineer – Programming Languages Team (Java)

hirify.global develops network management software based on a digital twin of the network, supporting verification, behavior prediction, and outage prevention across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

What you will do

• Develop, enhance, and maintain a primarily Java-based codebase.
• Develop and maintain the Network Query Engine using programming-language and database-system techniques.
• Deliver domain-specific languages used in Forward Enterprise.
• Build and support tools such as IDE plugins for language support.
• Implement query optimization, parsing, language extensions, and other components for network data and verification systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• 3+ years of professional experience with Java, Scala, or similar languages such as C#, F#, or comparable technologies.
• Strong object-oriented design and development skills.

Nice to have

• Functional programming experience with Scala, Haskell, OCaml, Scheme, F#, or another major functional language.
• Experience implementing programming languages or domain-specific languages, including parsers, type systems, compilers, evaluators, optimization passes, or editor support.
• Experience implementing database-like systems, including query parsers, query optimizers, execution pipelines, or storage formats.
• Experience with Apache Parquet, Iceberg, Datafusion, or other open-source data-system libraries.
• Experience analyzing and optimizing complex JVM-based applications; networking-domain experience is a plus but not required.
