Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: United States; hybrid work with travel to customer locations 20–25% of the time

Salary: $182,000–$250,208 USD base salary annually, depending on pay zone and candidate factors.

What you will do

• Build and productionize end-to-end data, AI, and application solutions for federal government customers.
• Own architecture and lead design decisions for secure, scalable customer systems and reference architectures.
• Design and deliver data ingestion pipelines, custom applications, and ML/AI model integrations.
• Guide customer architecture, implementation, evaluation, and adoption of the Databricks platform.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, customer support, and customer stakeholders to deliver technical components and resolve issues.
• Develop reusable accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale across customer accounts and inform the product roadmap.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. government Secret clearance are required to access classified information; an active Secret or higher clearance is strongly encouraged.
• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms and analytics, or software engineering.
• Fluency in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Working knowledge of at least two cloud ecosystems among AWS, Azure, and GCP, with expertise in one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark, including knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Experience with CI/CD, MLOps, ML/AI models and APIs, production data architectures, technical project delivery, documentation, whiteboarding, and enterprise clients.

• Expertise in MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs.
• Databricks Certification.
• Active Secret or higher security clearance.
