Product Manager, Beneficial Deployments (Labs)

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; hybrid attendance in an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time

Annual salary: $385,000–$460,000 USD

What you will do

• Identify how emerging AI capabilities can improve outcomes for underserved populations and mission-driven organizations.
• Work with researchers to understand emerging capabilities and translate them into user-focused opportunities.
• Build prototypes and MVPs with AI tools such as Claude Code to validate ideas and product-market fit.
• Lead 0-to-1 product development from research and internal prototypes through shipped products.
• Define vision, strategy, roadmaps, and execution for experimental frontier-AI initiatives.
• Design programs that help beneficial organizations access Claude, identify deployment barriers, and guide them from access to successful adoption.

Requirements

• Shipped products at a large technology company while working with engineering, legal, policy, and go-to-market teams at scale.
• Deep technical background and experience shipping technical products with engineering teams.
• Track record of products or programs reaching a large number of users or organizations.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, work across new domains, and develop simple solutions.
• Creative approach to evaluating the risks and benefits of emerging technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience; relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of product management or equivalent operating experience, including launching new products and scaling existing ones.
• Experience in a civic institution, public agency, nonprofit, or other beneficial organization.
• Founded a company or organization, or was among the first people building one.
