Associate, Asset Based Lending, Corporate Finance

Location: Toronto-81 Bay, 10th Floor, Canada. Work arrangement, including the proportion of on-site and remote work, will be discussed during the interview. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and hold a valid work or study permit where applicable.

What you will do

• Prepare and support presentations of financing proposals for clients.
• Analyze financial and non-financial information, assess risk, and help structure credit terms, security, covenants, and pricing.
• Prepare credit memoranda, recommendations, investment proposals, and transaction due diligence materials.
• Support documentation, negotiations, closings, and post-close portfolio management.
• Monitor borrower performance and industry trends, maintain ongoing risk assessments, and support higher-risk credit work-outs.
• Assist with syndicated transactions, including information memoranda, participant negotiations, legal documentation, and sell-down strategies.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, such as B.Com or BBA.
• At least 2 years of experience in commercial or corporate credit, public accounting, restructuring, or transaction advisory, preferably in deal execution.
• Strong financial analysis, credit assessment, financial modeling, and transaction risk identification skills.
• Understanding of asset-based lending, loan structuring, corporate finance, and complex capital structures.
• Strong communication, client relationship management, collaboration, and business development skills.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada and a valid work or study permit where applicable.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in asset-based lending.
• CPA, CBV, CFA, or another relevant financial designation.
