Location: Mojave, California, United States; onsite at least 80% of normal work days. Relocation eligible to the local Mojave area. Domestic and occasional international travel is required, estimated at 10% or less.
Salary: $147,500–$237,200 annually for the principal level. Base salary and leveling are determined case by case.
Company
engineers operationally realistic flight testing at Mach 5+ using reusable, air-launched Talon hypersonic testbeds to provide critical flight data for national security technology development.
What you will do
- Lead strategic initiatives and represent the Program Director in executive forums, customer engagements, and leadership meetings.
- Oversee multiple concurrent aerospace programs covering cost, schedule, technical performance, customer satisfaction, and delivery.
- Lead design modification, manufacturing, prototype or low-rate production, and flight-test execution for reusable hypersonic test vehicles.
- Manage forecasting, budgeting, revenue recognition, invoicing, and program financial performance.
- Develop business plans, proposals, capture strategies, customer engagement plans, and program growth opportunities.
- Lead cross-functional engineering, operations, procurement, finance, and legal teams while managing risk, governance, compliance, and organizational development.
Requirements
- 20+ years of progressive technical or program management experience, including at least 5 years in senior or principal leadership within aerospace, defense, or high-technology sectors.
- Experience managing complex multidisciplinary programs with annual budgets exceeding $100 million.
- Extensive aerospace program management experience across subcontracts, procurement, personnel management, aircraft systems and operations, launch vehicle integration, and ground systems.
- Advanced risk management expertise, including classified program execution and security requirements.
- Exceptional facilitation, negotiation, executive communication, analytical, strategic-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS (Top Secret) security clearance; U.S. citizenship may be required for certain government-cleared positions.
Nice to have
- Experience with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and major defense contractors.
- Air-launch, launch vehicle, aircraft integration, or large transport and military aircraft operations experience.
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent advanced project or program management certification.
- Experience working in secure environments and with classified programs.
