Senior Backend Engineer (Infrastructure)

Location: Remote within the USA; quarterly company meetups required.

Salary: $150,000–$225,000 annual base salary, plus equity and benefits.

hirify.global is a Series A startup building Dynamic Copay infrastructure that helps health insurance payors provide members with simple, upfront medical-care pricing.

What you will do

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and infrastructure automation.
• Manage and scale cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
• Maintain and extend infrastructure as code with Terraform and Terraform Cloud.
• Operate PostgreSQL, Redis, BigQuery, Bigtable, and Firestore, including provisioning, scaling, backups, and performance tuning.
• Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability across production systems.
• Participate in shared on-call rotation, incident response, compliance, and security work.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with significant infrastructure or DevOps experience.
• Strong Terraform and Terraform Cloud experience.
• Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Google Cloud Platform experience.
• Hands-on experience operating and scaling relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with CI/CD systems, monitoring, observability, and production backend services.

Nice to have

• Go or Python proficiency.
• Disaster recovery planning and runbook creation experience.
• Healthcare infrastructure experience, including HIPAA, SOC 2 Type 2, or HITRUST.
• Incident management tooling experience, such as incident.io.
• Startup experience.
