Transportation Analyst

What you will do

• Support travel demand model development and application, including four-step and activity-based models.
• Collect, organize, and analyze transportation data and technical documents.
• Contribute to survey design and evaluation, data visualization, and transit and highway corridor assessments.
• Perform location-based analytics, transportation market research, and transit and shared mobility system assessments.
• Support connected and automated vehicle planning, modeling analyses, and transportation network development.
• Prepare high-quality written deliverables, complete project tasks on schedule and budget, and support project managers and clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Applied Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
• 0–4 years of applicable experience.
• Ability to conduct effective and rigorous data analyses.
• Experience with scripting tools such as Python or R.
• Understanding of travel demand models and familiarity with TransCAD and/or OpenPaths.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Knowledge of regression and discrete choice analyses.
• Experience with Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with Google BigQuery, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure/Databricks.
• Working knowledge of machine learning algorithms.
