TL;DR
Vice President, Software Engineering & AI Transformation (Healthcare Software/AI): Leading software engineering organizations and executing an AI-first transformation across healthcare products and platforms with an accent on modernization, distributed systems, cloud platforms, and enterprise AI. Focus on building scalable engineering organizations, integrating generative AI and agentic AI capabilities, and governing complex technology, security, privacy, and compliance initiatives.
Location: Remote role based in Tennessee, United States
Salary: $175K–$250K annually

What you will do
- Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing software engineering organization responsible for product delivery, technology evolution, security, reliability, and operational outcomes.
- Execute and evolve the AI-first transformation strategy across products, engineering, and AI development workflows.
- Drive AI-powered experiences into customer-facing products and enterprise workflows.
- Lead modernization of legacy applications, cloud platforms, APIs, and AI capabilities.
- Partner with executive leadership, product management, operations, and security to define technology priorities and investments.
- Establish metrics, governance, and investment frameworks for technology and AI initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of progressive technology experience, including 8+ years of software engineering leadership and 5+ years leading large engineering organizations in senior leadership roles.
- 3–5+ years of experience in EHR and healthcare software environments.
- Expertise in modern software engineering, distributed systems, APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, and enterprise architecture.
- Experience implementing AI and machine learning capabilities, including Generative AI, LLMs, Agentic AI, RAG, AI orchestration, and AI governance.
- Experience working in highly regulated industries with complex security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience with Claude, OpenAI technologies, Microsoft Copilot, or AWS Bedrock.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing technology investment portfolios and business cases.
