Engineering Manager, Shipping & Logistics

What you will do

• Lead and grow an autonomous, inclusive, high-performing engineering team through coaching, clear expectations, and thoughtful structure.
• Own the shipping and logistics domain, including carrier integrations, rate shopping, label generation, and supporting systems.
• Set technical direction, prioritize the backlog, manage the roadmap, and oversee delivery processes.
• Champion AI agents for project planning, issue triage, and software development while reviewing generated work rigorously.
• Maintain engineering fundamentals including test-driven development, SOLID principles, scalable system design, and sustainable delivery.
• Partner with Product and Design to shape the roadmap, estimate work, communicate decisions, and maintain stakeholder alignment.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• At least 3 years of experience managing high-performing, product-focused software engineering teams.
• Recent hands-on software engineering experience with sufficient technical depth for architecture decisions, developer mentoring, and scalable system design.
• Practical experience using AI agents as a standard part of team workflows.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum, with a record of delivering high-quality software iteratively.
• Ability to balance priorities, manage stakeholder expectations, make trade-offs, and build trust through clear communication and accountability.

Nice to have

• Experience in SaaS, startup, or ecommerce environments.
• Exposure to shipping, fulfillment, reverse logistics, or complex integrations.
